Kathryn is on her way to judge the coveted Memphis in May World Championship BBQ contest. This is a huge honor to judge. She is a certified judge and has been judging for over 20 years.
Kathryn is a valued and Certified World Championship BBQ Judge for the prestigious Memphis in May, in Memphis ,Tennessee. Kathryn has been judging the Memphis in May as well as other BBQ contests in the South and Midwest for over 20 years. She will be judging the 2015 contest in Memphis . Kathryn’s true love of BBQ started when she was a little girl when her grand-daddy “Papa”, use to cook Hog in a pit. That is a story in itself.
She is an author of The Divine Dixie Deva’s, “Supper Time in The South,” Cookbook, which features in her cookbook – Appetizers, Soups, Salads, Main Dishes, Something Sweet to Eat, Skillet Suppers, Wild Game dishes and last but not least BBQ. She is a great friend of Myron Mixon, better known as “Jack’s Old South”, who is the 3rd time World Champion of the Memphis in May. Myron also stars in BBQ Pitmasters.She has judged Myron over 20 years. She has a rib recipe of Myron’s in her cookbook as well as Myron’s testimony to Kathryn.
Kathryn has been on Fox 2 showing off her Southern Cuisine, as well as ABC 12 for many years. Her give of gab and love of cooking as well as her true Southern stories being raised in Southwest Georgia makes for a real treat.
She teaches cooking classes at Mott Community College once a month.
